Import Data
How Do I Get the Data for My Reports?
Where is the data coming from? A system? A spreadsheet? A hard copy report? What kind of gyrations do you have to go through to get the data together so you can analyze it?
RatioWriter™ can import data in either CSV or spreadsheet formats. You may use one of the predefined spreadsheet formats to produce "hands free" import of your data. Or you can use your existing spreadsheet and RatioWriter™'s Other Spreadsheet feature to define your columns and import your data.
Importing is a matter of selecting the type of input file you have, either defining the columns or using a predefined format. A specialized screen is provided for each of the available imput formats. This reduces the time it takes to learn how to import data. This is especially important if you only do your analysis monthly.
Your data is automatically checked against the organizations and line items you have defined in RatioWriter™. RatioWriter™ flags those items which were not defined so you know they were not added. As they are imported, every number is tagged with the name of its source file.
